In Which the Mommy Fish Eats Tuna

Tuesday evening, Grant was eating dinner in his high chair. After a few minutes, Brian realized that he had fallen asleep. We debated on whether we should put him to bed, because it was only 6:30. But we did and he slept until 8:30 Wednesday morning.

We’ve been reading The Magic School Bus Gets Eaten; it’s about underwater food chains, to Jackson lately. He’s learned that Phytoplankton are eaten by Zooplankton who are eaten by anchovies who are eaten by tuna. We’ve mentioned a couple times that we, especially me, eat tuna. Today when Brian was quizzing Jackson on this particular food chain, Jackson ended it with Mommy Fish eating the tuna.

Saturday morning, on the way home from a photo shoot, we received some bad news. Brian’s paternal grandmother passed away in the night. A few hours later we learned that my sister-in-law was in labor. The baby, Eliza Brooke, arrived here safely and is healthy. Brian is heading to Boise this weekend for the funeral. It was a bitter-sweet day.

This morning we woke up to a lot of snow on the ground. We joked that it would be great to have a snow day from church (I had 2 lessons to teach), and lo and behold, we received a phone call: church was cancelled due to the weather. We felt guilty for a while, and then we enjoyed a nice family day together by the fire.

Our Stake Conference was this weekend and on our way out to dinner with some friends Friday night we heard that everything was canceled for the weekend. Not a flake had fallen, but everything was canceled. Turned out to be a smart move though since we got so much ice.
Have a great week guys! Cute pictures of Grant.
