Singing at our Christmas Eve devotional
On the 16th the kids and I flew to Denver. Brian helped get us through security and we got to Denver without a problem. The kids were excellent and enjoyed the flight.
In the days before Christmas we did lots of fun things. The boys slid down the stairs in a sleeping bag at my brother’s house and played with their cousins. We went to the Bass Pro Shop to visit Santa, although my kids were too scared to go near him. But they got to decorate cookies, shoot pretend guns, and Jackson had a snowball fight with soft balls in a netted area. At home, the kids decorated gingerbread houses and sugar cookies.
Brian flew in on the 23rd. We got back from the airport around 9:30 pm and Elle was still awake. She was so excited to see Brian. She just grinned and giggled at him for an hour. And she still seems overly excited whenever he comes in the room.
Brian and the boys spent the majority of Christmas Eve day either playing football outside in the backyard or playing foosball. On Christmas Eve my entire family was together. Each of us does a spiritual thought, and Jackson and Grant sang, “Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus.” The kids went to bed in their new PJs and fell right to sleep. Christmas morning was all it should be. The kids loved all their presents and were very grateful for everything, which is a plus. We had a quiet afternoon playing with all the new toys.
This week Ellie has learned where her ears and her belly are, and loves to show them off. She has also learned to sign the word, “please,” which has been great. She has had a great time playing with her cousin who is the same age. They follow each other around, laugh and Elle even shared her M&M’s with her today.
